Our SONEI Vision: To foster a culture, grounded in nursing ethics, that supports nursing excellence in every role and setting.
As an organizational development consultant for 36 years, I know how powerful a culture is that respects nurses and provides the needed resources for them to make ethical practice a reality. Yes, moral courage is needed to assertively speak up when nurses are faced with ethical dilemmas, but equally necessary is the responsibility of executives to provide a culture that supports nursing excellence. This excellence that will reduce errors, save patient’s lives and promote retention of the practicing nurse. I look forward to helping others understand the phrase imbedded in our vision–“grounded in nursing ethics.”
